Il Mercy Falls Children's Hospital sta per chiudere i battenti e i piccoli pazienti devono essere trasferiti in altri ospedali. La maggior parte del personale e dei macchinari sono già stati portati via e Amy, una giovane infermiera, è venuta da Londra per dare una mano. Ma c'è qualcosa di strano nel vecchio edificio, qualcosa di intangibile, pieno di odio e rancore... Qualcosa che non dovrebbe essere lì. FRAGIL(E) / 2005

11 Super 8 films by Helga Fanderl, made between 1986 and 2005. The selected films, Polar Bear, Passers-By, Bulrushes, Fountain, Girls, Ferris Wheel, Airplanes II, Falling Water, Under the Water Lilies, Weybridge and Fireworks, are a small sample of her large body of work which now includes over 200 Super 8 films. Helga Fanderl uses a shoot and cut technique where the act of perceiving and filming are one and the same. There is no post shot editing involved, everything is done in the camera. The films show what’s happening in front of the camera as well as the simultaneous logical process of its transformation by using the chronology of the event as cinematographic writing.

Easy Virtue, pur essendo dichiaratamente un lavoro su commissione, ispirò tuttavia a Hitchcock alcune delle sue trovate più sottili. Molte di queste sono entrate da subito nel repertorio generale degli effetti cinematografici; in particolare la conversazione telefonica tra l'eroina e il corteggiatore più giovane di lei, che la esorta a gettare al vento le proprie titubanze e a sposarlo, una sequenza realizzata attraverso i cambiamenti di espressione sul volto della telefonista all'ascolto. Il film contiene innumerevoli altri trucchi e trovate di grande ingegno, oltre a quella che Hitchcock definì "la peggiore didascalia che abbia mai scritto" (proferita dall'eroina verso i fotografi che la prendono di mira mentre lascia il tribunale dopo l'udienza finale): "Sparate, non è rimasto altro da uccidere!"

Per chi conosce questo regista quasi settantenne si tratta di un ritorno ai tempi dolci ed eroici delle storie anni Sessanta, della Nouvelle Vague. In questo senso Anna Karina è davvero un bel testimone. Nostalgia riprodotta senza l'ispirazione di un tempo che, davvero, ormai fu.
