Nel settembre 2012, cinque uomini partono alla volta dell’Himalaya. Il loro obiettivo è stabilire un record di velocità: scalare il Manaslu (8163m) e scendere a valle sugli sci nel minor tempo possibile. All’improvviso, una valanga travolge un campo alto, uccidendo undici alpinisti. I cinque protagonisti riescono a soccorrere alcuni dei sopravvissuti, sepolti dalla neve.
