Impelled by a spirit which still preserves a patina of idealism, Alfredo arrives to Madrid with the intention to create "a performance that is free, straight from the heart, capable of making people feel alive". His concept of what acting should be begins beyond the stage, out in the streets face to face with the public. Outdoors, in any town square, in a park or in the city's most commercial street, Alfredo and his troupe November start the show; demons to provoke passers-by, displays of social conscience, actions taken to the extreme to put the forces of law and order on full alert. There are no limits, no censorship; only ideas which are always valid so long as the public ceases to be the public and becomes part of the show swept by surprise, fear, tears or laughter. Theater as life, life as theater… there is no longer any difference.

E invece... nonostante tutti i dubbi del nostro Nelson l'amore vincerà ancora una volta e grazie a Sara riuscirà finalmente a capire quali sono le semplici cose e i valori che rendono la vita degna di essere vissuta. Fin qui niente di male, peccato però che ci si trovi di fronte a un film già visto mille volte e senza quel quid in più che lo renda allo stesso tempo diverso. Lei infatti è malata di cancro e sta per morire e lui, il cinico duro in carriera, è disposto a rinunciare a tutto pur di stare con lei.

Nino è un irrequieto adolescente di diciassette anni. Vive alle pendici dell'Etna in una masseria nei pressi di Catania e cova una sfrenata passione d'amore per la zia Cettina, la sorella della mamma. La donna, che è sposata e matura, ricambia in parte l'attenzione del nipote Nino ma allo stesso tempo è interessata ad un socio del marito, Sasà, giovane ed aitante. Il marito pare spingerla verso il socio per motivi di convenienza. Cettina, accortasi delle attenzioni di Nino, lo provoca con alcuni atteggiamenti, finché una sera gli si concede. Ma la donna non ha intenzione di cambiare il suo modo di vivere, e qualche giorno dopo Nino la sorprende in una casetta in campagna che fa l'amore con Sasà: quando il socio dello zio se ne va, lasciando da sola Cettina, Nino entra e la prende a schiaffi. Il ragazzo si sposa quindi con la cugina Giulietta, sua coetanea, ma la sua passione per la zia è tutt'altro che sopita.
