Gli eventi si svolgono nel periodo che va dal rapimento di Julia da parte di Shin alla prima apparizione di Kenshiro al villaggio di Lynn. Kenshiro viene trovato da una famiglia che vaga nel mondo post-atomico: poco dopo arrivano degli schiavisti che catturano i quattro sfortunati; il loro capo Guruma vorrebbe uccidere Kenshiro, che giudica inutile, ma il giovane Dan (che in realtà è una ragazzina) riesce a convincerli a risparmiarlo; Guruma li fa portare tutti in una città governata dal tiranno Shisuka, un uomo che ha trovato una sorgente d'acqua incontaminata e se ne serve per asservire tutti al suo volere; nella cella che ospita la famiglia e Kenshiro c'è anche un vecchio a cui sono stati tagliati i tendini delle caviglie; ridotto ad una vita apatica, l'uomo comincia a reagire solo quando Kenshiro rivela il proprio nome ai suoi salvatori.

Edouard Binet, an aimless Frenchman, has been travelling in North Africa for many years, and is sailing to Belgium. En route, he meets Sylvie Baron. He introduces her to Nemrod Lobetoum, a rich Egyptian carrying valuable jewelry, and Sylvie and Nemrod become friends. Their friendship escalates to love, which makes Edouard jealous. Days later, Edouard arrives at a rooming house owned by Mme. Louise Baron, Sylvie's mother, wearing blood-stained clothes. It appears that Nemrod was killed on a train after he arrived in France, but Edouard denies any knowledge of what happened. Sylvie suspects that Edouard is responsible for Nemrod's death, but by now her mother has become Edouard's ally.

Rock, Star, North. / 2021

In 2016, inspired by the great poets Basho, William Wordsworth and Nan Shepherd, Calum Rodger undertook a poetic odyssey around the game-world of Grand Theft Auto V. In 2017, he chronicled this journey in 20-minute performance poem 'Rock, Star, North.', which premiered at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh. Now, in 2021, this poem achieves its *final form*: a filmpoem - or 'machinipoem', if you will - composed entirely of shots from the game, alongside an all-new reading and updated text.
