Vincent and Olivier have an intense, rocky relationship: Vincent evades tenderness, just as he does desire, forcing the couple to hunt for a third partner to participate in their sexual games. Olivier has a background in the theater. He believes in, but is preoccupied by their relationship; he wants to free Vincent from the ghosts haunting him. But Vincent is locked into the past. His father, a pilot, was killed in a plane accident. Vincent’s job is a strange, uncommon one that plunges him deep into contemplation from which no one can make him budge: he deciphers plane disaster recordings. Vincent’s unconscious repression is so powerful that he hasn’t even recognized the link between his father’s death and his work. It will take the stormy encounter with Olivier for Vincent to obtain his ‘black box.’ Indeed, the two young men come to life through their connection with each other, a connection which shatters the framework of typical love stories.

Protagonist is the young actor Yvan. During a tour, he witnesses the inexplicable suicide of one of his fellow actors. Back in Paris he tells Xénie, the ex-lover of the dead actor. Xénie is in love with Yvan, but the latter sinks deeper and deeper into a personal crisis. At a certain point he acts being blind and buys a pair of glasses with black lenses. He is fascinated by his new, more restricted manner of seeing and refuses to open his eyes. Reality makes way for his more and more obsessive imagination. The mixture of fantasy and reality meant that Santoni's approach was compared with that of Buñuel.

1966. Antonio insegna inglese in una scuola retta da religiosi. Per favorire il loro apprendimento (e anche perché è un fan dei Beatles) utilizza le canzoni dei Fab Four per invogliarli a tradurre. Quando viene a sapere che John Lennon si trova in Almeria per girare un film decide di cercare di incontrarlo perché le canzoni che ha registrato da Radio Lussemburgo hanno dei versi che gli suscitano delle perplessità. John sarà in grado di dirgli se ha commesso errori nelle traduzioni. Lungo la strada il professore incontra due giovani autostoppisti. Prima si imbatte in Belen, una ragazza incinta che è scappata dall'istituto in cui era stata rinchiusa e poi in Juanjo, un sedicenne che si è allontanato dall'abitazione in cui vive con i genitori e con cinque fratelli perché non sopporta più la rigidità educativa del padre poliziotto. Sarà insieme a loro che il professor Antonio cercherà di coronare il suo sogno.
