Nelle verdi praterie neozelandesi, la centenaria fattoria Glenolden è ora gestita dai fratelli Angus e Henry Oldfield. Angus, allo scopo di migliorare le condizioni di vita dei vari contadini, effettua degli studi scientifici da applicare all'agricoltura. Gli esperimenti sfuggono al suo controllo e trasformano le innocue pecore della fattoria in bestie assassine assetate di sangue.Il fratello di Angus, Henry, che vive lontano dalla fattoria a causa una fobia proprio nei confronti degli ovini, torna per vendere la sua parte di fattoria, essendo all'oscuro di quello che sta succedendo.Henry, assieme al fattore Tucker e all'animalista Experience, dovrà trovare il modo di uscire da questo incubo, lottando con ogni mezzo per difendersi da quelli che una volta erano animali mansueti e ora sono mostri il cui morso può avere effetti mostruosi.
