Un ragazzino sulle tracce di un enorme orso Grizzly che terrorizza un piccolo centro montanoe. Un enorme orso Grizzly riesce inspiegabilmente a fuggire da una riserva dirigendosi infuriato verso un piccolo centro montano. Ritenuto responsabile dell'accaduto, il sedicenne Josh si prodiga per trovare l'animale. Intanto, il ranger Frank Bradford chiama in aiuto Jack Buck, un esperto cacciatore, per catturare l'animale. Anche Harlan Adams da la caccia all'orso, ma per ucciderlo. Quando la madre di Josh, Rachel, scopre che il figlio è scomparso, corre a cercarlo sulla montagna ma, dopo aver perso il sentiero, cade in un pozzo divenuto la nuova dimora dell'orso!
