Van Morrison: The Concert / 1990

Van Morrison: The Concert is the second video released by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, first released in 1990. Recorded in New York at the Beacon Theater on 30th November 1989, the concert featured two special guests and long-time friends Mose Allison and John Lee Hooker, each of whom performed some of their own songs. This concert mainly consisted of Morrison's work from his last two albums, including four songs from both Avalon Sunset and Irish Heartbeat, and features jazz singer Georgie Fame on Hammond organ. Some reviewers have stated that Van Morrison was not in best shape during the concert, with his voice probably strained by a cold.

Van Morrison rilascia la prima versione di Astral Weeks quando aveva solo 22 anni. La registrazione divenne subito un classico acclamato dalla critica ed è ancora considerato uno dei più grandi album dell'epoca rock L'autunno 2008 lo mostra catturando per il DVD segnato la prima volta del signor Morrison con Astral Weeks sempre eseguita in un unico set concerto completo. Assieme a lui era presente una sezione di archi orchestrali e una band composta da musicisti di fama mondiale, alcuni dei quali hanno suonato con Van sulle originali sessioni Astral Weeks 40 anni fa. Nel corso prima metà, l'artista ha eseguito un certo numero di classici senza tempo egli è famoso per questo, mentre il seconda metà è stata una maestosa prestazione dell'album Astral Weeks. Tra i brani inclusi nel DVD di concerto sono: "Astral Weeks / Belive i've Trascended, " "Beside You", "Slim Slider lento / I Start Breaking Down," "Sweet Thing", "The Way Young Lovers Do, "" .
