Travelling Light is a seemingly random journey through an area of East London. The title is a play on words; the light travels from one character (or situation) to the next, also the characters themselves are travelling light, we are not presented with their 'emotional baggage'.

The film's title is borrowed from Tove Jansson's collection of short stories and the film is dedicated to film director Olav Neuland, who died in a plane crash.
