Ogni storia diversa, raccontata da una voce fuori campo in lingua originale, si basa su un'accurata documentazione storica dei veri soldati morti durante quella battaglia e mostra rari filmati d'archivio di quegli specifici atti di guerra. Nel filmato vengono mostrati alcuni scorci della zona di Cassino, dell'Abbazia e del fronte della Linea Gustav, come appaiono oggi rispetto allo stesso luogo fotografato durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
