The Exile is an American television series that aired on CBS as part of its late night Crimetime After Primetime line up. The series premiered on April 2, 1991 and ran until October 1991.

In 17th-century England, Charles II, the rightful heir to the kingdom, is driven from his country by militants working for rogue leader Oliver Cromwell. Charles ends up in the Netherlands, where he falls for local beauty Katie and spends his days happily in the quiet countryside. Unfortunately, Cromwell's associate Col. Ingram and his men track Charles down, and the would-be monarch must resort to swashbuckling his way to freedom.

La trama prende piede nella superpotenza Euro Universe, la quale, soverchiata dall'aggressiva campagna militare del Sacro Impero di Britannia, spera di cambiare le sorti della guerra formando una speciale divisione conosciuta come wZERO, nella quale milita un promettente pilota di Knightmare Frame, Akito Hyuga. Altro personaggio rilevante sara' Leila Malkal, ex aristocratica britanna votatasi alla causa dell'E.U., la quale capeggia il gruppo di ribelli Wyvern, composto da giovani giapponesi. I Wyvern si lanciano incautamente sul campo di battaglia, dove le possibilita' di sopravvivenza sono incredibilmente scarse. Loro combattono per la propria liberta' e per una "casa" in cui tornare.
