Between 1960 and 1962, more than 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban children were sent out of the island by their parents to escape the repressive communist government. What was, at the time, the largest recorded child refugee exodus in the Western Hemisphere, was organized by then Father (later Msgr.) Bryan O. Walsh, a priest of the then Diocese of Miami. Working with other Catholic agencies throughout the country, children were placed with relatives, in temporary shelters, or relocated to 30 states to stay with foster families until they could be reunited with their parents. Some never did.

During a concert at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid at the beginning of 2022, Olivera and his bandmates performed not only songs from the mentioned album - "Para Tito Puente", "Bolero Danzongo" or "Danza del Carnaval" - but also other hits, such as "Mozambique"

She was trained by Cuban intelligence in polygraph countermeasures and passed a DIA polygraph screening "test" while spying for Cuba. Includes interviews with Montes' colleagues at DIA. The video mentions (at 16:31) that she used polygraph countermeasures to pass a 1994 DIA polygraph screening "test," which facilitated her espionage: The polygraph test in 1994 made her even more dangerous. By deflecting suspicion away from her, she was freer to pursue her espionage. And to pass the polygraph, she had used a countermeasure taught to her by the Cubans.
