Barbie, nel ruolo di Odette, insegue un unicorno nella foresta incantata. Qui viene trasformata in cigno da Rothbart, uno stregone cattivo che vuole sconfiggere la cugina di Odette, la Regina delle Fate, ed impadronirsi della foresta. La Regina delle Fate fa in modo che Odette riprenda forme umane durante la notte per trasformarsi nuovamente in cigno al sorgere del sole. Solamente Odette, con il suo coraggio e la sua intelligenza, potrà; salvare la foresta incantata dal malvagio Rothbart.

Irritated, he runs out into the woods and finds Swan Lake, where Odette has become queen of the swans. He learns that only by someone swearing eternal love to her can the spell be broken, and he does so. At a ball, numerous princesses are paraded before the prince, who shows little interest. But when Rathbart, in human form (Marcelo Gomes), arrives with his daughter Odile (Murphy), enchanted to resemble Odette, Siegfried is deceived. Swearing love to Odile, and betraying Odette, he may have condemned her to spend the rest of her life as a swan.

Bruhn’s Swan Lake was a fascinating psychological drama that departed from traditional versions, which proved controversial and ground-breaking. He enhanced the role of Prince Siegfried, whom he occasionally performed, with more dancing and depth, saying he wished to tell the story of the Prince rather than the Swan Queen. He also changed the role of Von Rothbart, the evil sorcerer, to the Black Queen (initially played by Franca). His telling changed the story from a struggle between good and evil to focus on the Prince’s relationships with the women in his life – his mother, the Black Queen, the Swan Queen and the Black Swan – each representing a different form of control or influence. To emphasize the powerful emotion of the story, Bruhn reinstated the tragic ending, with the Prince driven to his death by the swans.

Il principe Siegfried si reca insieme ai suoi scudieri ad una battuta di caccia e si spingono fino ad uno splendido lago popolato da cigni. Fra tutti i nobili animali ce n'è uno che spicca per la sua bellezza e soprattutto perché possiede una corona dorata sulla testa. Siegfried e gli scudieri ritornano al castello, dove la regina madre annuncia al figlio che l'indomani, in onore del suo compleanno e della sua salita la trono, si terrà un grande ballo al castello e saranno presenti tutte le principesse degli altri regni, tra le quali il giovane dovrà scegliere la sua sposa. Siegfried non è molto felice, perché vorrebbe avere al suo fianco una ragazza che ama realmente. In quell'istante ripensa al cigno coronato e decide di tornare al lago. Qui assiste ad uno spettacolo straordinario: quando il cigno tocca terra si trasforma in una splendida fanciulla dalla pelle candida e i lunghi capelli dorati.

Swan Lake 3D - Live from the Mariinsky Theatre / 2013

A spectacular special event edition of Swan Lake in 3-D starring Ekaterina Kondaurova and Natalia Vodianova, model, actress, and storyteller, was recorded and broadcast live from the historic Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg, Russia, the city where the world's most loved ballet was created. This was a 3-D live screening celebrating two hundred seventy-five years since Russian ballet started in the exquisite splendor of the Winter Palace.
