Inspired by the 1980s American soap opera, Santa Barbara, Svetlana became a mail-order bride from post-Soviet Russia to America. She took her two children with her to California to meet a stranger, a man who would soon become her husband and father to her children. The film brings together the audition process, behind- the-scenes footage, archival home movies, scripted scenes, and an interview with the director's mother, Svetlana. This project is an immersive form of visual storytelling that employs memory and performance in equal measure to show the journey of immigrating to America.

La Fiesta de Santa Barbara is a 1935 American comedy short film directed by Louis Lewyn. It was nominated for an Academy Award at the 9th Academy Awards in 1936 for Best Short Subject (Color). It features a young, pre-stardom 13-year-old Judy Garland singing "La Cucaracha" with her two sisters (billed as "The Garland Sisters"). Because of his close friend's betrayal, music director Jung-Woo (Lee Sang-Yoon) lost his precious guitar to creditors. He is asked to make a commercial and meets advertising exec Soo-Kyung (Yoon Jin-Seo). Due to personality differences, they have a confrontation. Later, they drink wine and talk about wine, movies and Santa Barbara. They discover they actually have some things in common and they develop feelings for each other. The next evening, they drink again and get drunk. Soo-Kyung tells him that they have been a couple since yesterday. With their romance just blooming, Jung-Woo fails to meet the deadline for the commercial. Soo-Kyung is disappointed and their romance ends. Some time later, they meet again for a commercial project. They have to go to Santa Barbara which they both admire.

The second film in a series of documentary and journalistic films about Russia. This is an impartial and friendly story about how the capital of Russia lives, works, studies and relaxes, seen through the eyes of a foreigner. The film's host, American actor Jed Allan, familiar to many Russians for his role as CC Capwell in the TV series Santa Barbara, travels around the multimillion-dollar metropolis, accompanied by the Russian actor and athlete Alexander Nevsky. The presenters of the film are equally interested in the opinions of representatives of the modern elite and ordinary citizens. The daily life of the city is the main interest of the film's authors; the faces snatched by the cameraman from the Moscow crowd are his main characters. The idea of the film is to show modern Moscow as one of the brightest, most beautiful and most dynamically developing cities in the world.
