Cold War-era cartoon aimed at convincing workers that increased productivity brings about greater purchasing power. The second of seven smart-looking animated shorts in the "fun and facts about American business" series. Its subject is "the profit motive," and it stars "Freddie Fudsie," a lazy soap maker who just wants to go fishing. He invents bar soap, makes some money, and is about to retire in peace and quiet when a sexy lady (the Profit Motive) walks by and Freddie -- who suddenly needs more money to win her affection -- never sees a fishing hole again. But that's okay, because "the profit motive has been the driving force behind the growth of American industry" and "will make a better life for the children of tomorrow." Oh, really? Watch for the cameo by "Joe," who later starred in Why Play Leap Frog? and Meet King Joe. The films in this series were made possible by a $597,870 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

Jean-Claude e Pierrot sono due giovani sbandati che passano il tempo nel loro quartiere di periferia tra furtarelli, scippi e altre prodezze teppistiche. Un giorno se ne vanno a scorrazzare a bordo di una Citroën DS, presa "in prestito" a un parruchiere. Quest’ultimo li sorprende in flagranti e li blocca minacciandoli con una pistola. La discussione si fa concitata e i due giovani tentano di darsi alla fuga, portandosi dietro Marie-Ange, sciampista e amante del parrucchiere. La ragazza diventa intimamente amica dei due, fa l’amore con entrambi, ma sempre con il più totale distacco. Jean-Claude e Pierrot ne sono comunque attratti, vorrebbero che scoprisse le "gioie dell’amore" e proseguono in sua compagnia nelle loro scorribande. Nel loro allegro e incosciente percorso, ne combineranno di tutti i colori, faranno incontri sorprendenti, impareranno a conoscersi attraverso esperienze avventurose e spesso libertine.
