Eight films to music, music-to-poetry, and poetry. The film takes its title from the first shot, a single take set to Fauré's setting of "Au bord de l'eau" by René-François Sully-Prudhomme. The image shows a tree in bloom near a stream, during an extraordinarily long warm streak in February, a dream of spring in the middle of winter outside Chicago. A false spring that doomed the exuberant tree's fruit.

In questo contesto, il più naturale dei riti di passaggio all'età adulta diventa un criterio di ammissione al gruppo, per tracciare un confine tra chi è fuori e chi è dentro. Ed è a questo punto che la "perdita dell'innocenza" può suscitare sentimenti come paura e vergogna, laddove assume la forma di prevaricazione e molestie, rendendo urgente una valutazione del consenso sullo sfondo di una cultura maschilista sempre viva. In questo toccante e coraggioso docu-film, la regista Julie Talon dà la parola a ragazze e ragazzi tra i 12 e i 23 anni.
