Egisto Costanzi (Enrico Montesano), vedovo, fa il cameriere nell'hotel, ma vergognandosi della sua condizione fa credere alla figlia Adelina di essere un ricco cliente dell'albergo. Il pugile coatto Pericle Coccia (Carlo Verdone), insieme al suo manager Bertolazzi per prepararsi all'incontro della vita, ma preferendo il cibo e le donne. Il grande "Mago di Segrate" (Diego Abatantuono), che è in realtà solo un mistificatore, che incanta il pubblico con trucchetti da quattro soldi.
