Laura e Marta sono due ragazze che dividono, come coinquiline, un bell’appartamento. Laura, la più giovane, compra una telecamera e inizia a documentare, per gioco, la vita in casa delle due, mentre Marta, la più matura, subisce i continui scherzi dell’amica. Un giorno Laura, ficcando troppo il naso nell’intimità di Marta, scopre una collezione di amuleti e libri di esoterismo. Questa scoperta, oltre a svelare i forti conflitti che aleggiano tra le due giovani, risveglia un’entità che comincia a manifestarsi nella casa, inizialmente senza che le due se ne accorgano, ma col proseguire della storia, con segnali sempre più inquietanti e pericolosi.

End Rolls #2 / 2009

The original work End Rolls is a performance for three 16mm projectors. A color negative film was exposed directly to different sources of light (candlelight, stove, fire) with the intention of creating fluctuations of color throughout the reel. Three copies were made, each printed at a different level of light. In the performance, sounds are extracted through the lens of each projector using light-sensor microphones. Since mechanical film projectors don’t run entirely in sync, the three films play together in a dance—echoes of movements and sounds—to which I make further changes in performance by working with the projector controls. End Rolls #2 is a digital adaptation, for two fixed screens, that was made for a program at Arnolfini, Bristol.

Makoto takes an unusual romantic interest in Lisa, who lives in a different world from them, and asked her out to dinner, but she does not take him up on it at all. Kida warns Makoto to give up on her because they live in different worlds, but Makoto quits his job and vanishes without a trace.
