Diego is a gay but closeted Hispanic chef living in East Los Angeles who works in the restaurant operated by his grandmother. Frustrated by the secretive lifestyle he shares with his similarly closeted lover, Pablo, Diego finds himself attracted to Wesley, one of the openly gay Caucasian men he feels are gentrifying his neighborhood. Their relationship pushes Diego to consider the possibility of a life he had never imagined.

In un quartiere di case fatiscenti alla periferia di New York, vivono alcuni ragazzi che conducono un'esistenza di stenti, solitudine e violenza. Del gruppo fa parte Thomas, chiamato T. dagli amici, che ha un certo carisma sugli altri e per questo viene rispettato e amato. C'é poi Julio, detto Scricciolo, scappato di casa quando la madre si è messa con Martinez e infine c'è Amber, ex fidanzata di T., che prova ancora attrazione per il ragazzo e che vive facendo il gioco delle tre carte dopo essere uscita dal giro della prostituzione. Ma T. conosce Elana, una bella ragazza di origini portoricane e se ne innamora.
