Dopo la morte dell'amato Sigfrido, Crimilde fugge dal suo paese in Oriente, dove si reca da Attila, re degli Unni, per sposarlo e lo prega di invitare i Burgundi alla sua corte per mettere in atto la sua vendetta. Il suo obiettivo è Hagen: durante una festa trasformata in orgia, gli unni e i burgundi da allegri diventano violenti e arrivano ad usare le mani, facendo nascere un profondo odio l'uno per l'altro.

Siegfried / 1992

Many hundreds of years ago, Siegfried snatched his invisibility cloak from the dwarf Alberich. Understandable that this is not good to speak Siegfried. But he always likes to tell how it happened. And also of all the other dangerous adventures of Siegfried. How he defeated the dragon and became almost invulnerable, there would not have been a small linden leaf. The kidnapping of Brunhild from Iceland and why Hagen von Tronje became Siegfried's mortal enemy. And of course Gunther's betrayal of Siegfried. And one question Alberich still has to this day: what really happened to the treasure of the Nibelung? Is he still lying on the bottom of the Rhine?

The Ring Cycle: Die Walkure / 1992

FIRST DAY OF THE RING CYCLE. Fleeing for his life, Siegmund seeks shelter at Sieglinde's house. Her husband Hunding happens to be one of Siegmund's pursuers, and the two of them must cross swords the next day. As Siegmund laments his lack of a weapon, Sieglinde directs him to the sword Nothung stuck in an ash tree. Despite discovering they are twin siblings, the two fall in love. The King of Gods Wotan, their father, sends his Valkyrie daughter Brünnhilde to aid Siegmund. Fricka protests, and Wotan uses his spear to break Siegmund's sword during the battle. Siegmund is slain, but Brünnhilde rescues both the sword fragments and Sieglinde who is pregnant with Siegmund's child Siegfried. Wotan is angry that she intervened, but since Brünnhilde is his favorite child, he merely strips her of immortality and sends her into an enchanted sleep, surrounded by fire. Filmed at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus in June & July 1992.

Now Brunhild knows by which treason she was won for king Gunther of Burgund by Siegfried of Xanthen, and has been revenged by his foul murder by Hagen, more bloody revenge is inevitable. Hagen steals the Nibelungen-treasure to sink it in the stream and manages to kill Alberich and seize his invisibility-cap. Queen Kriemhild is packed of to an abbey so her son may grow up to become a prelate, but Hagen's men raid them and kill the child. She now accepts to become the wife of Etzel, king of the truly barbaric Hun nomads and invites the Burgund court nomenclature at their Danube court for their heir's baptism a few years later, but prepared a bloody conspiracy with her xenophobic brother-in-law behind her surprisingly chivalric husband's back, while Gunther accepts, hoping to avoid a far bloodier war, despite the danger for his party of knights, which materializes...

The Ring of the Nibelung: The Valkyrie / 2016

Frank Castorf’s staging of the Ring, premiered in 2013 and filmed in 2016, provoked controversy right from the beginning. For Castorf, the Rheingold of our days is oil; thus he places the first part of the tetralogy at a gas station on Route 66. Die Walküre is situated in Baku, Azerbaijan, which was seized by the Bolsheviks in 1920 for its oil, whereas Siegfried takes place in a socialist equivalent of Mount Rushmore and at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz. Götterdämmerung is set somewhere in the GDR, ending up at New York’s stock exchange. Whilst Castorf’s staging polarized, Marek Janowski’s musical reading was unanimously praised, as was the excellent cast including in this opera Iain Paterson (Wotan), Nadine Weissmann (Erda), Albert Dohmen (Alberich) and Roberto Saccà (Loge)

Nel V secolo, il castello del re Siegmund e della regina Siegland viene attaccatto dal popolo sassone guidato dai Re Gemelli. Per salvare il figlio di nove anni dei regnanti, Sigfrido, questi viene abbandonato al corso delle acque di un fiume. Perduta la memoria, viene ritrovato dal fabbro Eyvind che decide di tenerlo con sé, chiamandolo Eric. Dodici anni dopo, una notte un meteorite cade poco distante dalla case di Eric. Il giovane raggiunge il luogo dell'impatto e lotta con una sconosciuta, atterrandola. Questi è Brunilde, regina d'Islanda, che vede avverarsi la profezia secondo la quale un uomo l'avrebbe battuta, e sarebbe diventato suo compagno. Dopo una note d'amore, la donna scompare con il suo pezzo di meteorite, dicendo però che aspetterà Eric finché l'uomo non sarà pronto ad unirsi a lei definitivamente.

Die Walküre / 2006

Die Walküre (The Valkyrie), WWV 86B, is an opera in three acts by Richard Wagner with a German libretto by the composer. It is the second of the four operas that form Wagner's cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung). The story of the opera is based on the Norse mythology told in the Volsunga Saga and the Poetic Edda.[1][2] In Norse mythology, a valkyrie is one in a group of female figures who decide which soldiers die in battle and which live. Die Walküre's best-known excerpt is the "Ride of the Valkyries". DVD release June 2009.

Sigfrido / 1958

Sigfrido è il più valente cavaliere dei suoi tempi. Al torneo del re di Burgundia ottiene in premio la mano di Crimilde, sorella del re, ma l'amore dei due giovani è contrastato dal geloso Hagen. Questi con la regina d'Islanda escogita una trappola per il guerriero, che viene ucciso a tradimento. Accanto a lui muore anche la disperata Crimilde, ma gli assassini non restano impuniti.

Wagner - Der Ring des Nibelungen - Walküre / 2011

As a storm rages, Siegmund the Wälsung, exhausted from pursuit by enemies in the forest, stumbles into an unfamiliar house for shelter. Sieglinde finds the stranger lying by the hearth, and the two feel an immediate attraction. But they are soon interrupted by Sieglinde's husband, Hunding, who asks the stranger who he is. Calling himself "Woeful," Siegmund tells of a disaster-filled life ("Friedmund darf ich nicht heissen"), only to learn that Hunding is a kinsman of his foes. Hunding, before retiring, tells his guest to defend himself in the morning. Left alone, Siegmund calls on his father, Wälse, for the sword he once promised him. Sieglinde reappears, having given Hunding a sleeping potion.
