Il film inizia raccontando le vicende che portarono gli Alteriani a lasciare la loro galassia per sfuggire agli Ori e trasferirsi nella nostra. Sia gli Alteriani che gli Ori avevano scoperto i segreti dell'ascensione, ma avevano forti ideologie contrapposte: gli Alteriani praticavano una politica di non intervento, mentre gli Ori si fecero venerare come dei, così da far accrescere il loro potere. Gli Ori però non erano sinceri con i loro sudditi, infatti promettevano l'ascensione a chi li venerava, ma non mantevano mai questa promessa. Con queste premesse la guerra fu inevitabile, e gli Alteriani furono sul punto di perdere. Idearono così un manufatto che avrebbe risollevato le sorti della guerra: un'arca che avrebbe fatto capire ai fedeli degli Ori le menzogne rifilateli dai loro falsi dei. Ma gli Alteriani, rispettando la loro regola di non-intervento, decisero di non usare l'arca e scappare nella nostra galassia, tenendone l'esistenza all'oscuro degli Ori.

Dave è un goffo Nasocchione dai colori vivaci, le sue uniche abilità sono quelle di creare meravigliosi e confortevoli nidi e produrre nuvole di gas terribilmente puzzolenti ogni volta che si spaventa. Dave viene a conoscenza dell’arrivo di un gigantesco diluvio che sommergerà tutta la terra, prepara i bagagli ancora una volta e insieme a Finny si ritrova al grande raduno degli animali. L’unico modo per sopravvivere è salire sull’enorme arca, in grado di ospitare tutti gli animali della terra. L’arca è stata costruita da Noè… un umano gentile! Proprio quando credono di essere tutti salvi, Dave e Hazel si accorgono che Finny e Leah sono scomparsi. La curiosità ha giocato loro un brutto scherzo, erano sul ponte quando vengono scaraventati in acqua da un onda gigantesca. L’arca sta salpando… e per Dave e Hazel non resta che l’ultimo tentativo di salvare i piccoli rimasti sull’ultimo lembo di terra ferma.

God is planning to flood the world, but he doesn't want this to be the end, he wants to make sure that it can be re-populated when the floodwaters recede. So he calls on Noah and tells him to build a boat, a boat big enough to carry two members - one male, one female - of every animal species on earth. Noah complies and when the rains begin, he and his family round up the animals and commence their voyage.
