Poor but confident and resourceful tailor David trusts, after killing seven flies in one swat, he's a match for any challenge and sets out to prove himself in the wide world. After luck and cunning help him deal with giant Lothar, he arrives at the castle of petty king Ernst, who is ruled by constant migraine and his ambitious, manipulative court counsellor Klaus, who desires to succeed by winning brat princess Paula's hand and claims to be the only saviour who can rid the land of three supernatural dangers.

When the tailor swats seven flies at once, he sows himself a banner saying "seven in one strike", and together with his bird he starts a journey into the world to pronounce his deed.

Durante il Medioevo in Europa un re è alla ricerca di un guerriero coraggioso per uccidere un gigante che ha terrorizzato il piccolo regno. Si discute molto in paese, ma nessuno è disposto ad assumersi il compito. Nelle vicinanze nello stesso villaggio, un giovane sarto paesano (Topolino) uccide sette moscerini in una sola volta mentre lavora. Fuori dalla sua finestra due paesani stanno parlando dei giganti, e Topolino, senza saperlo, si intromette vantandosi: "Ne ho uccisi sette in un colpo solo!"...
