This ballet immerses us in the crazy love story of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette. The latter is unfortunately a prisoner of the famous spell of the magician Rothbart: she turns into a swan during the day and becomes a woman again at night. Only the promise of eternal love can free her from this spell. Siegfried then promises Odette to marry him at the ball given in his honor. Will they escape the trickery of Rothbart and his daughter Odile? Will the Prince manage to save his bride?

Siegfried e gli scudieri ritornano al castello, dove la regina madre annuncia al figlio che l'indomani, in onore del suo compleanno e della sua salita la trono, si terrà un grande ballo al castello e saranno presenti tutte le principesse degli altri regni, tra le quali il giovane dovrà scegliere la sua sposa. Siegfried non è molto felice, perché vorrebbe avere al suo fianco una ragazza che ama realmente. In quell'istante ripensa al cigno coronato e decide di tornare al lago. Qui assiste ad uno spettacolo straordinario: quando il cigno tocca terra si trasforma in una splendida fanciulla dalla pelle candida e i lunghi capelli dorati.

Constanze is stunned when suddenly the six swans appear. They explain to her sister that only she alone can curse the curse: for six years Constanze could not speak a single word and has to sew shirts made of stinging nettles. The shirts will be able to turn the swans back into people.
