Nel 2002 il regista Walter Salles ha girato il film "I diari della motocicletta" raccontando il viaggio attraverso l'America Latina nel 1952 di Ernesto Guevara, studente ventitreenne di medicina, insieme all'amico Alberto Granado. Ernesto proprio in questo viaggio scoprì la miseria e lo sfruttamento dei popoli e la sua vocazione di ribelle. Gianni Minà, già collaboratore di Salles per il suo film, in questo documentario ha invitato Granado a ripercorrere i luoghi visitati cinquant'anni prima con il Che alternando questo cammino nella memoria con immagini del dietro le quinte di "I diari della motocicletta".
