Una coppia in auto rischia un incidente e prende a bordo una delle tre donne: Pamela. Nella stazione di servizio cui giungono per fare rifornimento avvengono cose strane, e quando i tre si allontanano il gestore diviene uno zombie. Poco distante l'auto delle altre due donne si fermano a loro volta in una stazione di servizio dove vengono raggiunte dal generale che prende cosi che crede essere la figlia, si accorgerà poi a sue spese che si tratta di un vampiro, riesce ad ucciderla e si rimette in moto per raggiungere l'altra coppia. L'auto di Barbara del suo compagno e di Pamela si ferma e vengono aggrediti da uno zombie riescono ad averne la meglio impadronendosi dell'auto. Ora proseguono verso la città Pamela e Barbara sulla jeep e gli altri due uomi sulle rispettive auto, fra le due donne accade qualcosa che le lega, come l'avverarsi dei sogni fatti da Barbara. Anche la città è invasa dagli Zombie e dai vampiri e la lotta si fa drammatica.

Featuring interviews with leading film scholars and visual artists influenced by Le Fanu, Outliving Dracula seeks to redefine Le Fanu's critical importance as an Irish writer whose ghostly traces remain profound and enigmatic. This documentary suggests that Carmilla may perhaps be more radical and transgressive today as a creative wellspring than its successor Dracula.
