Seconda Guerra Mondiale, la Francia è sotto il controllo nazista. Gli Alleati sono in fuga dal continente, una loro sconfitta in Nord Africa sembra molto probabile, la vittoria dei nazisti è quasi assoluta. Dal profondo di questa atroce probabilità, un uomo di nome Jacques usa una radio per trasmettere un messaggio di speranza. A sua insaputa, il temibile capo Klaus Jager, l’«Hauptmann» della Gestapo, è impegnato nell’intercettazione di questa trasmissione illegale. Man mano che Klaus si fa sempre più vicino, Jacques e la figlia Juliet, assieme ad un gruppo ristretto di dissidenti, dovranno fidarsi delle attenzioni di uno sconosciuto pur di stare un passo avanti al loro inquisitore… una fiducia che potrebbe portarli direttamente nella tana del lupo.
