Dopo essere uscito di prigione, il gangster Eddie Kagle viene ucciso e finisce dritto all'inferno. Qui, riceve però la possibilità di tornare sulla terra e ottenere vendetta in cambio della risoluzione di un altro problema: dovrà sostituirsi al buon giudice Parker per distruggerne la reputazione ed evitare che i suoi propositi di futuro governatore sottraggano mano d'opera all'inferno. Non tutto andrà come nei piani, soprattutto quando Eddie avrà modo di incontrare Barbara, la fidanzata del giudice.

Donna Deitch directed this documentary about the illness and death of her friend, actress Gwen Welles (Nashville). Diagnosed with an cancerous tumor in 1992, Welles chose not to go for conventional treatments, and the film shows her deterioration. Shot on video with a later transfer to 16mm, this film was shown at the 1998 Berlin Film Festival.
