I. / II. / III. / 2024
Originally shown as three separate films, I. / II. / III. is a triptych portrait of the most intimate proportions. Simple scenes within the domicile become completely entrancing as layer after layer of exposure unfurls onto itself. The movement of the leaves, the light, his father: all become hypnotic in this silent sonata.

The tenderness of the initial images presents young girls of a school class praying, in a chorus, verses that thank the Lord for “all the wonders performed”. The Battle of Vertières took place on November 18, 1803 in the former French colony Saint-Domingue, now Haïti, and resulted in the independence of the first free nation of Latin America and the Caribbean.

True Life Adventures I, II, & III / 2013
Using found sound from Disney's 1940-50s nature documentaries, this trilogy creates a mismatch between the digital image and historic/histrionic voiceover. It confounds traditional nature documentaries by adhering to strict time and spatial limits, and ratchets up false expectations about wildlife; continuity editing begins to break down to reveal a necessarily condensed representation of the natural world.
How I Unleashed World War II, Part III: Among Friends / 1970
Disguised as an Italian medic, Dolas finds himself on a ship evacuating wounded Axis soldiers to Italy. He leaves the ship disguised as a Nazi soldier, but is found out, declared a deserter and sent to the Eastern Front. However, on the flight to Russia, he is able to escape with a parachute, and finds himself back in Poland, now occupied by Nazis.
Les Chants (I, II, III, IV, V) / 1981
The first series of a film whose course is in parallel with the life of the author. Unlike a newspaper, however, any realistic, everyday element is excluded. Only one theme will carry through the whole work: the expectation of death, its presence at every moment of life, the inexorable advance of time which, hour after hour, day after day, season after season, marks every face, every body transforms every look, invests every place in its light, its forms, its colors, asserts itself in the face of what man believes eternal: the ebb and flow of the sea, the mass of rocks, their stone works.

Saga do Lenhador Assassino (I, II e III) /
Inspired by "slasher films", these shorts stand out exactly for the creativity of Ruben Ferreira, creating an antagonist who uses his axe as a deadly weapon, while everything and everyone finds it very difficult to rid themselves of this once for all.

Fair And White: Parts I, II, III and Extra / 2010
“‘FAIR AND WHITE’ is the name of a line of beauty parlors in Paris largely catering to an African-French clientele. No-one apparently goes berserk seeing the signs. We were visiting Pip Chodorov in the Latin Quarter and found ourselves walking through a concentration of such establishments. I had my 3-D outfit, two small Vado video-cameras mounted side-by-side for the capture of stereo images. There is a law in France against photographing people without their expressed agreement, a decent law, right? And I broke it and I’ll break any such law that forbids memory, corpuscular or mechanical.” -Jacobs
