Bernd Oppl lets a crumpled magnetic tape fly through a barren space. Driven by an invisible force, it swerves around while the crashing noises that are on the tape resound on the soundtrack. Movement and sounds converge until you no longer know what’s caused by what. The image (the sound) rushes from reality.

Today there is a great effort to renaturalize the Hase. 10 interviewees get a chance to speak: Some work professionally with the Hase, others get a special quality of life because of the river.

The Georgetown Loop / 1996

First screened as part of Jacobs' "Nervous System" film performance, The Georgetown Loop is based on an archival film from 1903, which Jacobs pairs with its mirror double to produce a kaleidoscopic two-screen projection. The original film depicts a journey shot from the cab of a train passing through the Colorado Rockies, and, in this hypnotic new form, comes to suggest the movement of consciousness itself.

Easy, sleazy, and dirty. That's what the short movies you could see in a peep machine were. For the cost of a few coins, a variety of beautiful babes undressed before your eyes. They weren't always glamorous, but they were always stacked. And if you were lucky, maybe they had a little fun with themselves. In the 1950s and 60s these little films were commonplace, but now they're part of a bygone era. This collection brings together over an hour of those short subjects, and take you back to the days when ecstasy could be had for twenty-five cents. You'll see women in lingerie, women in the buff -- and a few that have moves that are illegal in some states. One thing's for sure, the gals who made these films had fun...and you will, too.
