Estate 1969: Kenji e i suoi amici costruiscono un nascondiglio segreto in un terreno abbandonato. Iniziano quindi a stilare il "Libro delle Profezie", in cui i bambini s'inventano una storia in cui devono combattere contro dei malvagi che vogliono conquistare il mondo. 1997: Kenji è padrone di un piccolo minimarket a conduzione familiare; abbandonato il suo sogno giovanile di diventare una rockstar, sembra aver accettato l'idea di vivere un'esistenza normale, impegnandosi nel frattempo ad accudire la nipote Kanna, figlia della sorella Kiriko morta prematuramente. La sua quotidianità viene scombussolata quando uno dei suoi vecchi compagni di scuola, Donkey, muore misteriosamente; subito dopo una famiglia vicina di casa di Kenji scompare. Mentre una catena di eventi sembra ripercorrere gli eventi descritti nel Libro delle Profezie, fa la sua comparsa una setta religiosa guidata da un misterioso leader, che si fa chiamare l'Amico. Sta per iniziare la fine del mondo? E chi è l'Amico?

An ambient work of many things, including orchids blooming, and plants growing, superimposed over raw footage from post massacre filmings of the 1982 massacre of Palestinians at Sabra and Shatila refugee camp in Lebanon. Cloud footage, Hubbell space imagery, the visible body crosscuts, and abstract shots of slow motion water, add to this reflection of the past, its present context and forbearance. With the voice over of Abdel Majid Fadl Ali Hassan (a 1948 refugee living in Bourg El Barajneh camp) recounting a story told by the rubble of his home in Palestine [Israel], and the collection of audio accompanying the clips, the tape permeates into an intense essay on dystopia in contemporary times. Working directly, viscerally, and metaphorically the videotape rovides an elegiac response to the Palestinian dispossession.
