BREATHING UNDER WATER is the story of a woman's journey into an imaginary underworld city. The birth of her daughter into an increasingly perilous world has unsettled everything in Beatrice's (Anne Louise Lambert) life. Her growing unease prompts Beatrice to undertake a journey - an investigation into human nature, a confrontation with the fears of our time, and a search for clues that will ultimately give her an answer to the central riddle of the film: why has humankind set the stage for its own extinction? The director’s preoccupation with humankind’s tendency to self-destruct was one factor that lead to the creation of this complex film.

Breathing Together: Revolution of the Electric Family / 1971

The title of this Canadian documentary may have some relation to Canadian Marshall McLuhan's theories. It combines interview with famous U.S. militants of the '60s, such as Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman, with reenactments of their Chicago trials (i.e., the "Chicago Eight," etc.). Other figures of cultural interest from the time, including Alan Ginsberg and Buckminster Fuller, are interviewed or featured. The filmmaker indicates his belief that powerful forces in the U.S. government worked together to suppress American radicals. This view, widely disbelieved at the time, has since been confirmed.

William attempts to dive completely unaided to a depth of 300ft, almost to the bottom of the deepest blue hole in the world - "Dean's Blue Hole" in the Bahamas.

Transatlantic: The Making of Breath of Life (Abridged Version) / 2021

“As you probably know, for Transatlantic’s The Absolute Universe, I took the lead role in putting together the “Breath of Life” version. If you have the Blu-ray, you will have seen the Making of documentary which mainly focuses on the work we did in Sweden. This month’s IC release tells “the rest of the story” – the long journey from the initial idea to edit in March 2020 to November 2020, when the final mixes were signed off, and everything in between – which includes me catching Coronavirus! The documentary is around 70 minutes long, and you’ll see me doing some of the lyric rewrites, adding overdubs and chopping and editing this thing!”

All the performers are strictly gay and transgender, including Manuel Blanc, who was once André Téchiné's muse.

You Leave Me Breathless / 1938

A "Screen Songs" short mixing live action with cartoons. The animated section deals with what will be seen on the television sets of the future, i.e., a fountain of youth operating in Turkey, a cow mowing the lawn and feeding at the same time, and other items and then the TV set brings on Jimmy Dorsey and his Orchestra, with Bob Eberle singing "You Leave Me Breathless."
