Freddie Mercury - L'immortale / 2022

La storia di Freddie Mercury, icona musicale che ha contribuito a scardinare i pregiudizi e la vergogna legati alla malattia che lo ha ucciso. Il documentario racconta l’ultima fase della vita del cantante, per la precisione gli anni dal 1987 al 1991, quando ha dovuto fare i conti con l’AIDS. Attraverso interviste inedite ad amici e persone vicine al cantante durante quel periodo, tra cui Brian May e Roger Taylor, la sorella di Freddie Kashmira Bulsara, i suoi amici Anita Dobson e David Wigg e il suo collaboratore Peter Freestone, il documentario non solo racconta quegli ultimi 5 anni di vita del cantante ma anche come il concerto tributo al Wembley Stadium organizzato dai Queen il 20 aprile 1992, pochi mesi dopo la morte di Freddie, che ha contribuito a cambiare l’opinione della società su una malattia considerata, fino a quel momento, uno stigma di cui vergognarsi.

Arturo, who has just turned 15, is in love with 13-year-old Paloma. In a moment of passion at a ski lodge while on a field trip to the mountains with their schoolmates, he gets her pregnant. Afraid of what may happen to them if their strict (but somewhat inattentive) parents or any of the rather straight-laced teachers at their Catholic school find out about the baby, Arturo and Paloma turn to their young friends and relatives for help instead. This proves to be something of a coming-of-age for everyone involved as they try to help the young couple get married, conceal the pregnancy from their parents, and prepare for the birth. The many adventures they have while doing this, while often amusing, help drive home to them that the old wives' tale about storks bringing babies is just a myth (hence the title), and pregnancy and childbirth are actually very serious matters.
