Alice Durand, after weeks of discouragement, reads the following advertisement in the New York Herald: "Governess wanted. Young American woman, well educated and speaking French and German, may obtain lucrative position with prominent Egyptian. Fare and expenses will be advanced. Write, enclosing photograph, to Mahmoud Pasha, Sphinx Club, Cairo, Egypt." Answering the advertisement, Alice seven weeks later, secures the position and leaves her New York boarding-house for Egypt.

’25 years ago I was asked by Chiatt Day Advertising in Los Angeles to cover the making of ‘1984’ for Apple Computers. This commercial was to be directed by Ridley Scott to introduce the Macintosh to the world. ... The message of the whole enterprise was: ‘If you miss this, then you’re going to be at a disadvantage’. This sentiment in itself set the tone for the definition of the self at the end of the 20th century, when the self was to be defined by its likes and its dislikes. Prisoners as a work derived from the footage shot during the making of the commercial deals with the problem of ideology, the potential manipulation of meaning and the hotness or coldness of the medium as expressed by McLuhan as well as several other issues. ... U-Boat Prisoner / 1944
Merchant seaman Archie Gibbs manages to survive when his ship is torpedoed by a German submarine. Disguising himself in the uniform of a dead Nazi spy, Gibbs is picked up by the Nazi U-boat. He manages to convince the German sailors that he's the spy, and in this guise he tries to rescue a group of captured Allied scientists.

Siddharth: The Prisoner / 2009
Siddharth Roy gets discharged from jail, and with his lawyer's assistance, returns to his rental flat in Mumbai and is asked to consider a divorce settlement from his wife, Maya. While in his flat he finalizes a manuscript titled 'The Prisoner', and then attends the Om Shree Internet Cafe to email publisher, Tim Wright. When he returns home he finds that the briefcase he got from the Internet café is not his, and contains Rs.20 Lakhs in cash. He decides to keep the cash, and returns to the café to see if he can locate his briefcase in order to get his book published. He does not do so - but is unaware that the briefcase belongs to a gangster, Atul Bhai, who has already assigned two armed men, Amin Bhai, and Aseem, to get it back, while the café attendant, Mohan, who had Googled Siddharth, is actively engaged in locating him.
