Due sottufficiali american, che hanno partecipato alla guerra stanno per andare in licenza quando vengono invitati a partecipare ufficialmente ad una trasmissione radio organizzata in loro onore da una grande ditta commerciale. L'uno dei due, Mick, insignito della più alta decorazione al valor, ma schivo di applausi prega il camerata Pat di prendere il suo posto al microfono. Quando un celebre cantante della radio fa loro sapere che la ditta intende ospitarli nel migliore albergo della città, Pat accetta per ambedue e si dà alla pazza gioia.
