Architect of Brutal Poetry / 2021

An old man fails to recognize his own face in the mirror. He is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Little by little, his memories get washed away. One day he decides to tell the story of his life to his reflection in the mirror. The man is Hans Broos - a famous Brazilian architect, Carpathian German by origin, born in Slovakia. The mirror he confesses to acts as a reflection of his own memories.

Poetry Written on the Banana Leaf / 1932

China's first song and dance film was "Poetry Written on the Banana Leaf" directed by Sun Yu and starring Wang Renmei in 1932. A battalion commander's lover, named Zhao Zhao, wrote a poem on a banana leaf in memory of the battalion commander. Just as she was about to mail it, she met people in the village holding the Autumn Tage Festival. Zhao Zhao decides to participate the festivities with her friends. Unexpectedly, the banana leaf was lost on the ground. Zhao Zhao rejects a man who tries to pursue her. Mad being rejected, the man picks up the lost banana leaf. He decides to write his own name to it, trying to deceive the battalion comrade that Zhao Zhao has cheated on him. The film is thought to be lost.

A 30 Year old woman, a hostess past her time working at a shady club and an aspiring actress living in Tokyo. Betrayed by her lover and her dreams crushed, the broken woman leaves Tokyo for her hometown in the countryside after five years of no contact with her family. There she reconnects with an old flame but is also forced to confront some unpleasant truths about her past.

Kiyumi's Poetry and Sayuru's Embroidery / 2011

After school, Kiyumi and Sayuru ride their bicycles to their meeting place, take off their bicycle seats with a wrench, and go off to play with their seats held in both arms so that it will not get stolen. One day when the two girls forgot to remove their bicycle seats, they come back and only Sayuru’s seat was missing. Since then, Kiyumi has disappeared from Sayuru’s world.

Today, eight years after his passing, Black Honey tells the incredible story of the greatest Yiddish poet of modern times. Sutskever led the Paper Brigade underground movement that saved Jewish manuscripts from the Nazis, survived WWII due to Stalin sending him a private rescue plane, testified in the Nuremberg Trials, and immigrated to Israel in 1947 where he led Yiddish culture, while writing in astonishing vitality.

Poetry of Whispers / 2020

The emotionless life of the city is seen to make people mentally distant from each other, even though they live in the same space. Frustrated with his monotonous and melancholic life in a hostel located amidst a city, Biswa gets a call from his girlfriend Mukuta who has gone home which is in a village in Assam. Mukuta's mother is no more and her father lives alone at home when she is away. During the phone conversation, Biswa realizes the contrasting difference between Mukuta's relationship with her home and his own relationship with his city life. He finds it interesting enough to make a film out of it.

A Journey of Poetry and Illness / 2010

A documentary feature by Jun Geng. Poet Zhang Rare once studied at the Beijing Qingmei Academy. Due to pressure he felt living in the city, he feelings of depression, he returned to his hometown and taught middle school. But his depression got worse and he was diagnosed with schizophrenia; he his job and, stayed home, and began to focus on writing his poetry.
