Russian Ties: Creating An Angle /

The Russian Tie series is an excellent move that wrestlers at any level or weight class can use to score points. The Russian Tie presents two benefits for wrestlers: First the opponent is constantly on defense thus cannot stall from this position. Second, it is a control position that allows your wrestler to move his opponent into position to score. Hall begins by discussing the important keys to a successful Russian Tie, covering grip, stance, movement, head position and footwork. From there he covers six different set-ups that can be used to hit eight different takedown techniques, which Hall also discusses. The takedown techniques covered include the single, double, snap down, firemans, and hip toss, which he used successfully to win the World Championships.

Slow Angle Walk (Beckett Walk) / 1968

A fixed camera turned on its side records Nauman repeating for nearly an hour a laborious sequence of body movements inspired by passages in works by Samuel Beckett that describe similarly repetitive and meaningless activities. Hands clasped behind his back, he kicks one leg up at a right angle to his body, pivots forty-five degrees, falls forward hard with a thumping noise, extends the rear leg again at a right angle behind, and begins the sequence again. As in many of his fixed-camera film and video works, parts of Nauman's body disappear from the frame as he moves close to the camera; occasionally, he walks off-screen completely while the sound of his footsteps continues on the sound tracks.

In the 1970s, Dutch photographer Charles ‘Chas’ Gerretsen suddenly became world famous with his then small oeuvre. Privateer from a young age and former war photographer, he was invited by Francis Ford Coppola to capture everything on the set of Apocalypse Now because of his wartime experiences. Most of his work on the legendary set has never been seen before. Until now. In honor of the 40th anniversary of Apocalypse Now, Rotterdam-based cinema KINO Rotterdam and the Nederlands Fotomuseum joined forces to unearth the archive of Gerretsen and produced a documentary together. The documentary contains an in-depth interview with Gerretsen and more than 100 pictures of the stellar cast including Marlon Brando, Dennis Hopper and Martin Sheen. It even features images of deleted scenes.
