Flood: A River's Rampage / 1997

After heavy rain, the Mississippi is breaking it's banks flooding small towns. Richard Thomas and Kate Vernon realise their town is next on the hit list. Lots and lots of sand bags might not do the trick but a huge explosion might. In the meantime the plot is filled up with a predictable story about a family dreading their mistake of staying behind when they become entrapped in their own home.

Threatened with death, this doctor with an exceptional destiny now lives cloistered in his hospital in Bukavu under the protection of the United Nation peacekeepers. But he is no longer alone in his struggle. The women to whom he has restored physical integrity and dignity, stand beside him, true activists for peace, hungry for justice.

Out of Danger / 1985

It’s the end of the Tang dynasty, the country is in turmoil. A blacksmith Yuchi Gong (Honglin Dong) wants to join the army of Li Jiancheng and Li Yuanji. Due to his upright character and formidable martial skills he raises high in the ranks of their army. Unfortunately, he was disappointed by the two wreck less Li brothers and decided to join their more just and noble enemy, Liu Wuzhou. The brothers Li heard that Liu’s wife and his sister-in law are two rare beauties so they decide to kidnap them. Yuchi Gong succeeds in rescuing them but Liu’s wife dies. The stage is set for an all out martial mayhem.

Dura lotta tra proprietari terrieri e braccianti nell'Andalusia del primo Novecento. Due sicari dei primi, dopo essere stati colti da una crisi di coscienza, si schierano con i secondi. Il veneziano Mario Girotti, in arte T. Hill, non era ancora l'eroe dei Trinità e già era esportabile. Impostato alla maniera di un western, è un film curioso anche se molto grezzo. Buona ambientazione.

Angry Monk - Monaco arrabbiato: Riflessioni sul Tibet / 2005

La storia di Gendun Choephel (1903-51), un monaco tibetano ribelle che si trasferisce in India come un vagabondo e torna in Tibet come uno straniero. Gendun Choephel viene arrestato dal governo tibetano per le sue idee politiche, accusato di ribellione e messo in prigione. Muore da uomo distrutto nel 1951. Il film segue le tracce lasciate dal monaco ribelle in Tibet e in India. Attraverso conversazioni con vecchi testimoni contemporanei e giovani tibetani, il film sviluppa un'emozionante contro-immagine del Tibet mistificato.
