Uno "stunt-man" rimasto imprigionato nella sua macchina in fiamme, sogna, mentre si trova in ospedale, di essere il Messia. In tale veste soccorre una giovane drogata assalita da quattro teppisti e fa all'amore con lei. Poi entra in una villa in cui ecclesiastici, politici, industriali e generali stanno facendo un'orgia, e li scaccia. Coinvolto in tumulti di piazza viene arrestato con un gruppo di extraparlamentari di sinistra, ma riesce a fuggire. Guarisce un cieco, cui trasmette il potere di compiere miracoli. Sapendo di averlo dalla sua parte il popolo scende nelle piazze, inveendo contro i potenti, coinvolti in scandali e ruberie, dei quali chiede la giusta punizione. I potenti corrono ai ripari e il Messia è catturato e rinchiuso in manicomio. Quando si sveglia, lo stunt-man vede attorno al suo letto, in veste di medici, gli stessi uomini che, nel sogno, erano i più feroci nemici del Messia.

Fantasy is a favourite theme for directors, since it enables them to give vent to diabolical situations with unlimited licence. This film is of this category. It is the story of a jealous and protective mother who allows her son only home-made dolls to satisfy his sick fantasy. But as in all fairy stories, there comes a day when a real, warm girl enters the sheltered life of the son. His natural and innate thirsts for oddities soon make him repeat on the girl what, until then, he has been doing with the dolls. The story then evolves into a fight of wills between the mother and the girl.
