The film begins with footage of a city of ruins, when the entire cityscape of Warsaw is covered with stones. It is 1945. Themed around stones as carriers of historical memory, the movie is so closely filmed that the viewer can never see the city's memorials in their entirety.

The Text Allows No Interpretation / 2022

The Text Allows No Interpretation is a personal essay documentary displaying the director’s conversation with his trauma in a stream of consciousness. The moments in photographs and videos are set in temporal disarray, meeting the superimposed phone calls speaking to and around the trauma from the past. The ever-present noise of repetition is created through jumps between memories of fear and death during the decade-old Arab Spring to insomnia and anxiety emerging through the footage of NATO military exercises on the borders of Russia.

When walking in the hills to take pictures, Tom gets a text from his girlfriend that distracts him and sees him fall down a steep slope. He is taken to hospital for a long recovery but nobody can find out who to contact - his girlfriend worries. Tom's phone is found by a young man who lives in the hills and struggles with his homosexuality as a result. When he finds the phone he carries on the text flirting, thinking it is a guy that is interested in him. With so much confusion, could everything work out in the end?

For over two decades now, the regularity of unmitigated violence has left daily life in Kashmir in tatters. The violence has had an impact on almost every home and many families have no adult male members. The film looks at the impact of this violence on the lives of those left bereft by it. Women affected by the loss of their close ones have somatized the psychological devastation they have suffered onto their bodies. Young people have nothing to look forward to and a depressing environment has a cascading effect on children who see sadness and tragedy all around them.

Firework Text (Pasolini) / 1998

The film documents a small event situated on the Idroscala di Ostia, close to the place where Pier Paolo Pasolini was murdered on the night of November 2, 1975. A vandalised concrete sculpture now commemorates the spot where Pasolini died a few hundred yards away from the mouth of the Tiber.
