From Orel to Prague. Black Knife Division / 2020
In 1942, the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps entered the battle on the Oryol-Kursk Bulge. It is the only corps in the world created with money collected on a voluntary basis. Those who assembled these tanks fought in it. The competition for the right to fight in the corps was 14 people per seat. In the first battles at Oryol, every third soldier of almost 3,000 Perm soldiers died. Such was the bitter price of the victory. After the Kursk Bulge, Perm tankers took part in the liberation of Lvov, Poland, Berlin, Prague. Who are they, Perm participants of these battles? What did they look like, what did they think and what did they dream about?

The original introductory part of Karol Plicka’s film The Earth Sings (1933), which was replaced with a sequence of shots of Bratislava during the era of the First Slovak Republic. Spring in Prague is a short film, a poem dedicated to Prague – a city of baroque churches, modern houses of Wenceslas Square, or Wilson Station. Capturing the details of the streets in a modern way, this film by Plicka complements his extensive collection of photographic books about Prague and its architecture.

A cine-camera placed on the front side of a tram films the left bank communication under Letná. The tram passes by a cable way station to Letná. Is crossing through the Čech's Bridge. On the right bank side we see construction site on a place where stands Faculty of Law today.

On the Letná Field in Prague a white horse called Vasil is performing exercises in a circle, being on longe. A man is performing so-called "longeing" - hopping on an unsaddled horse and performing exercises while riding it. At the back you can see the Prague Castle.
Fifth All-Sokol Rally in Prague / 1907
The 5th Sokol Festival Gathering took place in 1907 in Prague, Letná (the Letná Plain). The film shots are documenting the following gymnastic exercise pieces: exercises performed by women with clubs, exercises performed by men belonging to the Prague Sokol Group, exercises performed by men with shields and canes, exercises performed by American women (Sokol members) with flags, exercises performed by women (trade union members), gymnastic exercises performed by men, exercise on gears performed by men (horizontal bars, rings, parallel bars, side horse), gymnastic exercises performed by French Sokol members. The Sokol Cavalry was parading in front of the terraces. The event was closed by a ceremony parade on Staroměstské náměstí (the Old Town Square). We can see the Slovácko band and the Sokol Cavalry participating in the parade, as well as the American Sokol members.
Consecration Ceremony for the Foundation Stone of the Jubilee Church of St. Anthony in Prague VII / 1908
On a rainy and windy day there is marching a procession of priests and town dignitaries. A big community of priests is consecrating the foundation stone of the memorial of František Palacký. The Prague Archbishop František Schönborn is blessing the foundation stone. The Priests are lying down blessed stone cube components and form them into one big unit.
