Family focus: talking together about parental depression and anxiety / 2012
Videos to help you talk about depression/anxiety 'Family Focus' videos - for parents and young people Many parents who experience depression or anxiety worry about whether they should talk with their children about their illness and how much they should say. The fact is that symptoms of depression or anxiety can influence how you think, feel, act and communicate. Other family members (particularly children) can be confused with what they see and hear. In the case of young people, they may not understand what’s happening, and may make up their own reasons for your behaviour. Talking about mental illness as a family can help everyone make sense of what’s going on. In fact, research has proven that open family discussion bolsters family strength and also build a child's resilience to developing mental health problems of their own.

Come On, Focus! / 2019
After a failed attempt to get images of the two people they both like, Josh and Bryan will attempt it once again with mixed results.
In Focus Memories / 2010
The video is the re-actualization of a memory, the reproduction of an image that in turn reproduces the reality of an event stuck in memory: when we bring into focus the memory from that moment on it vanishes, leaving only a sense of melancholia and emptiness of the soul. The video is inspired by unknown people’s personal memories and attempts to put them into focus crystallizing the very moment in which everything burst into flames and the memory vanishes. The technique used is the film combustion. Ach combustion is natural and is a unique and unrepeatable act, because the burned frame, even if similar to others, it is none other than itself and represents the instantaneous shot of an unrepeatable moment.

Family Focus / 1976
Emshwiller terms Family Focus a "family self-portrait, a stylized autobiography," which takes the form of an intimate collage of home movies, black-and-white videotape and photographs that have been colorized, synthesized or otherwise visually transformed in an electronic mediation by the artist. The viewer is witness to the spontaneous activities and conversations of the family's quotidian home life, which is accompanied by Carol Emshwiller's ironic, often poetic commentary. In one sequence of home movies, the children are seen "growing" over a span of twenty years. Using the video camera as a kind of psychological mirror, Emshwiller integrates video's intimacy, reflexivity and realism with its "unreal" technological manipulations to form what the artist describes as a "documentary/video art transformation of self-revealing images."

Pull Focus Gasometer / 2010
PULL FOCUS: GASOMETER shows how illusion and reality are interchangeable. It is engaged with ideas around movement and stillness, and with the different ways that a work of art can be both experienced in time and in turn can represent time. Lewis‘ work highlights, through film, that what is always present in a great pictorial work of art is a depiction embedded in a complex relationship to time.
Focus Puller /
After an accident involving a gun on the set of a B-movie leaves the 1ST AC position vacant, 2ND AC and boy-next-door Charlie Dunlap gets promoted. This places him squarely in the sights of the film's starlet Becca Mustaine. Becca, once a household name as a child has since aged into a recovering addict, quickly steals what keeps Charlie tethered to reality. With no medication to rely on and breaking his heart by continuing her affair with the films director, Charlie tries to keep it together but can't. With no one to help he finally succumbs to his hallucinations. Because in this allegory, and much like our world, the singular attempts of a madman to quiet his demons are never enough.
