Il mondo viene invaso da alcuni congegni che esalano una tossina mortale chiamata Destron Gas la quale, secondo le previsioni di Bulma, rischia di portare alla fine dell'umanità nel giro di qualche mese. Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks del futuro e Piccolo si muovono alla ricerca dei congegni. Dal gas si generano dei cloni di Turles, Lord Slug, Freezer e Cooler creati dal Dr. Raichi, unico superstite della razza Tsufuru annientata dai Saiyan, che ha dato inizio al suo piano di vendetta e di distruzione. Dopo alcune peripezie, Goku e gli altri riescono a distruggere i cloni grazie ad un piccolo aiuto di Bulma. Re Kaioh avverte i guerrieri che per mettere la parola fine a tutto bisogna localizzare l'artefice del Destron Gas, così Goku e gli altri lo localizzano su un asteroide vicino alla Terra e lo annientano, ma il dottore riesce a sfoderare il suo ultimo asso nella manica: Hatchiyack, una macchina il cui potere, secondo Goku, è addirittura superiore a quello di Broly.

"Ho la sala, l'abito, la data e 200 invitati", afferma Michal, "non sarà difficile trovare marito". Come premessa comica potrebbe essere spassosa. Il problema è che Un appuntamento per la sposa, opera seconda della regista ebrea ortodossa Rama Burshtein dopo La sposa promessa (la cui protagonista, Hadas Yaron, vinse la Coppa Volpi alla Mostra del cinema di Venezia nel 2012), non è una commedia tout court, ma vuole anche essere una riflessione sulla società ebrea ortodossa e il ruolo che la tradizione gioca sui rapporti fra uomini e donne.
