Garrick Ohlsson, the winner of the 1970 Chopin International Competition, joins Antoni Wit and the Warsaw Philharmonic to play both of Chopin's piano concertos. A magnificent pianist, Ohlsson is one of the most celebrated Chopin interpreters and his performances reveal the many facets of the composer's genius. The concert was recorded at the Warsaw Philharmonic on 29 August 2009. This concert is followed by the documentary film The Art of Chopin, made in 2009 by the visionary director Gérald Caillat to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth; it not only tells the story of his brief life, but also brings together some of the world's greatest pianists playing excerpts from a collection of his best-known works.

The Kitaguchi Market which stood on the North East side of Nishinomiya KItaguchi Station was disrupted in the Kobe Earthquake and has all but changed. The development of the city continues and the landscape has changed but the city lives on in the hearts of the people who hold it dear. This story aims to give hope to hard working honest people, and ask how we should live by showing the lives of people after the disaster such as the rough looking Daruma, a former high school music teacher and current owner of a piano bar, or his former student, a young pianist who later develops dystonia and must learn to play with his left hand.

Ivo Pogorelich: Chopin, Haydn, Mozart / 1987

Arthur Rubinstein Plays Chopin and Rachmaninov / 1950

In the intimate setting of his home, one of the most celebrated pianists of the 20th century performs an all-Chopin program, with the Mazurka in C Sharp Minor, Op. 30, No. 4; Scherzo in C Sharp Minor, Op. 39; Nocturne in F Sharp Major, Op. 15, No. 2; and Polonaise in A Flat Major ("Grand Polonaise"), Op. 53. Augmenting this 1950 film are two 1956 Producer's Showcase "Festival of Music" performances: a reprise of the A-Flat Polonaise and Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. "Admirers of the legendary Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982) will covet this ... black-and-white salon recital done in Hollywood style, with unidentified guests - including the pianist's wife Eva - caught in medias res, with Rubinstein's playing the last fifteen bars of the Prelude in F# Minor, uncredited. Rubinstein then asks permission to play a mazurka, the piece most representative of Chopin's national character....
