La storia dell’unico sopravvissuto ad una misteriosa e fantomatica nube dai poteri fossilizzanti viene a occupare una buona dose dello special, che dunque nella parte iniziale si concentra solo per brevi accenni sulla vicenda dell’incontro tra Maetel e Tochiro, la quale compare all’interno di un flashback, il resto dell'episodio descrive appunto lo scontro tra i protagonisti e il guerriero e svela il mistero del pianeta.

The inhabitants of Cape Muroto in Kochi Prefecture depend on fishing for their living, but have no fishing port in their village and so use the port of Uraga in Kanagawa Prefecture as their main port. 22 crew members in a wooden boat of less than 100t fish for tuna in rough seas, 4,500 miles away from home near Christmas Island in the Pacific Ocean, where hydrogen bomb experiments are being carried out. The film focuses on an 18-year-old trainee and his labors aboard the fishing boat for two months, precisely reflecting the fisherman’s daily life.

To escape the oppressive military regime in Burma (Myanmar), Kyaw Kyaw Soe fled to Japan in 1991, leaving his wife behind in his motherland. Later, his wife is able to join him in Japan, and the two of them run a Burmese restaurant. Thus begins their new life together in exile. Living in Japan for more than 20 years, Kyaw Kyaw Soe is caught between the wish to be with his family in his own country and the desire to see democracy in his homeland.
