Lorenzo è un industriale che, sposatosi in Argentina, è succubo della moglie, una donna inqualificabile la quale, spinta da indegne amiche e difesa da una assurda legislazione, riesce a far sequestrare tutti i beni del marito, a cacciarlo di casa e a farsi aggiudicare i due bambini nati dall'infelice matrimonio. L'industriale disperato ripara in Italia, ove conduce con sé i figli che ha rapito e l'affezionata segretaria. Ma anche in Italia la legge gli è avversa. Citato in tribunale dalla sopraggiunta moglie, Lorenzo compare davanti al magistrato. Per sua fortuna, i legali della donna sono due inetti che gli permettono di ottenere l'annullamento del matrimonio, nonché un congruo indennizzo delle pene fino ad allora patite.

Short film about the experience of taking psychoactive drugs. ‘I wanted to make a short documentary-style film about marijuana and hashish, psychoactive drugs that in 1955 were still relatively unknown to the general public. They were mainly used by a small group of artists, jazz musicians, intellectuals, and North Africans. I wanted to visualize the ritual of rolling and lighting up a joint, and then put a series of seemingly unrelated images next to each other to represent the feeling of being high. When the movie was finished, we took it to the festival for 16mm films at Cannes, and won the Golden Lion for ‘Best Use of Film Language’. (Shinkichi Tajiri, Tajiri, 1993)

Part 5 in a long running (8+1 films) action/comedy/melodrama series about a pair of short tempered, amoral, but not evil chinpira (Bunta Sugawara and Tamio Kawachi) thinking too big of themselves. After serving four and a half years in prison, Masa and his brother Katsuji leave Kobe to go to Nagoya to help a hostess get her daughter back from her mother. As they arrive in Nagoya, they get into a scuffle with the local yakuza affiliate. Sugawara and Kawaji's chemistry is even more evident here than usual, the storyline is alright if melodramatic. Delightful start with Tatsuo Endo as a nice guy prison guard! How many times have you seen that? And we got Kyosuke Machida (henchman) with cool beard and the always good Tsunehiko Watase (young hood) on board as well. One of the best films in the series.
