Watching Them Die: The Mexican Army and the 43 Disappeared / 2015
On the night from September 26th to 27th, 2014, a group of students, from Ayotzinapa School, was chased, shot and dispersed to different locations of the city of Iguala, Guerrero. Six people died, one in coma and 43 are missing. The perpetrators were members of the local police that acted under direct watch of state and federal forces, as well as the Mexican Army.

The Day I Disappeared / 2011
The Day I Disappeared is a film essay based on the personal story of the filmmaker, who fled from Iran and travelled through what was a completely new and unknown world for her: Europe. It is also an effort to shed light on an internal process of alienation, an individualisation of the term 'refugee' or 'asylum-seeker'. The unconventional narrative uses the patterns of Persian poetry, with visual metaphors and rhymes and rhythms between the scenes. A lot of the material is found 16mm and 8mm footage that mirrors the director's memories of her own trip through Europe more than twenty years ago. The images of the main character’s dance also reflect on the alienation of the individual. The combination of all these creative approaches evokes a special world between reality and fairytale.

È circa metà dicembre ed il capo della Brigata SOS Haruhi Suzumiya annuncia ai propri compagni che la brigata terrà un party natalizio nell'aula del proprio club. I membri del club Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina ed Itsuki Koizumi si occupano dei preparativi per il party, come decorazioni e costumi. Ma appena un paio di giorni dopo, Kyon scopre che Haruhi è scomparsa. Ma Haruhi non è soltanto scomparsa: è come se non fosse mai esistita. Mikuru sembra non riconoscere Kyon e afferma di non averlo mai visto prima, Koizumi è come se non si fosse mai trasferito nella loro scuola e Yuki è l'unico membro del club di letteratura, che ovviamente è ospitato nell'aula in cui ci sarebbe dovuto essere la Brigata SOS. E in tutta la scuola nessuno ha mai sentito parlare di Haruhi Suzumiya. Kyon è l'unico in grado di capire cosa sia successo.

Adal knew his brother was waiting for smugglers to bring him over to Europe. He got a strong feeling his brother was onboard this particular boat and went to Lampedusa to look for him. In the middle of Seoul, there are places that went off the linear orbit of time, the past or the present. < People who disappeared, the world that didn’t, or vice versa> captures the images of space-time in such places as 'Bada Theater' that opened 40 years ago and closed in 2010, 'Jungang Apartment', a multipurpose apartment block built in 1950s, Print Alley in Euljiro, Clock Alley, etc. Based on the idea of the ‘will of a place’ that a place has its unique way of life and coexists with other places, each with its own time and flow, the video depicts the sense of movement and energy of the things that exist in intangible forms.
