I risultati non corrispondono sempre alle ambizioni e c'è, nella sceneggiatura di Leon Uris, qualche eccesso melodrammatico in cui si avverte lo sforzo di nobilitare la materia, poco adatta al robusto mestiere senza inventiva di J. Sturges. Ambientazione suggestiva, buon uso tattico dello spazio e una costante ombra di morte sull'azione e sui personaggi, tutti ben serviti dagli interpreti. La bella canzone dell'inizio è cantata da Frankie Laine.

The ambitious X-Gang, a bloodthirsty neo-Nazi-like organization, plots to take care of Ko and his friends and take over the city with their army of mind-controlled zombie soldiers. In true Hong Kong fashion, it boils down to a showdown of champions, and this one takes place in a boxing ring in an eerily empty warehouse with video coverage broadcasting the event all over.

Quasi un ritorno al vecchio wuxiapian fantastique degli anni ’50-’60. Nel cast, il mitico villain Chen Hung-lie (1943-2009), visto in in decine di martial arts movies e Chiang Pin, sorta di sosia di Jimmy Wang Yu che ebbe un momento di celebrità nelle produzioni minori dell’epoca.
