Aprile 2018, San Paolo: acclamato dalla base elettorale per le sue politiche sociali e le origini di sindacalista e metalmeccanico, Luíz Inacio Lula da Silva (Lula), già presidente del Brasile dal 2003 al 2011 (dopo tre tentativi falliti, nel 1989, '94 e '98) nonostante le proteste dei suoi sostenitori deve consegnarsi alla giustizia per effetto di una condanna in primo grado in seguito all'inchiesta sull'operazione "Lava Jato", "autolavaggio", nel senso di corruzione tramite tangenti della compagnia petrolifera nazionale Petrobras, e di riciclaggio. Uno scandalo che ha travolto non solo il suo partito (PT, Partido dos Trabalhadores, dei lavoratori, fondato, anche da Lula, nel 1980), ma anche la parte avversaria, ovvero esponenti del PSDB (Partito della Social Democrazia Brasiliana, nato nel 1988). E che continua, nonostante la scarcerazione di Lula a film finito, a perseguitare l'ex presidente per vie penali.

The action takes place shortly after the end of the Second World War in the Siberian hinterland, among Russians and Germans with damaged personal stories and a strange transformation: the victors seem to be crawling into the skins of the defeated, and vice versa. Ignat, is the embodiment of the larger-than-life image of the Soviet victorious warrior who, in fact, proves to be shell-shocked, sick and broken, although not completely destroyed. Trains become fetish for the heroes of the film, and speed becomes a mania; they virtually become one with their steam engines, while the machines take on human names. The heroes set up an almost fatal race in the Siberian forest, risking their own lives and those of others.
