Diana, avvocato di successo, eredita alla morte dello zio Hugh metà della sua vigna. L'altra metà va invece a Seth, braccio destro del defunto ed ex fidanzato di Diana. Nelle sue ultime volontà Hugh ha chiesto che i due lavorino fianco a fianco per la vendemmia che avrà inizio da lì a breve. Nessuno dei due è contento di ciò e malvolentieri accettano di esaudire la richiesta per prendere possesso del lascito. A complicare ulteriormente le cose è poi la presenza del vicino rivale Grant Garritson, che minaccia il già traballante rapporto tra Diana e Seth.
