An incomplete travel (and sound) chronicle; a place occupied by maps and globes; a recollection of memories instead of the repetition of an imprecise image. In the spaces that remain between these surfaces, Recording Rituals intends to meditate on the relationship between landscape and archive in the construction of imaginary communities and material memory.

This is a large projection of aerial footage that has been shot by pigeons equipped with lightweight digital cameras. With heavy wind and the nervous flapping of wings the viewer gets only a fractured impression, though immediately identifiable, of a political demonstration.

The Ritual of Color / 2015

The materiality of reversal-film is being portrayed. This analogue technology, with its exposed chemical skeleton is clashing in an anachronistic filmic gag with contemporary digital animation. Colour is not presented as a natural, but a highly constructed medium in the expierence of film. This is a short experimental-essay which is questioning canonized and hegemonic film-rituals used to build and test cinematic-images.
